"My ten year-old daughter was struggling with reading. She hated reading and would do almost anything to avoid it. My husband and I spent almost $15,000 for her at a well-known learning center, but after a year of classes, she still couldn’t read and hated it even more.
"Then we enrolled her with an Academic Associates Reading Instruction Specialist. In less than 40 hours she learned to read extremely well. She now reads almost constantly, and loves it. That’s when I decided to become a Reading Instruction Specialist myself. I trained at the company headquarters in La Quinta, California." —Elizabeth Bougher

An agency that oversees thousands of special needs children sent several of them to highly-touted learning centers for help with reading. Costs ranged from $12,000 to $30,000 per student, but results were disappointing. Then they sent several students to a local Academic Associates Reading Instruction Specialist. They were surprised when all the students learned to read at appropriate levels in a very short time—an average of just 30 to 60 hours.

Eight year-old Kevin* was diagnosed with several learning disabilities, including autism, auditory processing deficit and ADHD. After less than 50 hours at Academic Associates, Kevin gained 1.7 years in reading ability and was reading at proficiency level. He continues to improve, and recently gained another 1.7 years.

Nine year-old Angus* was flown from his home in another state to our headquarters in Southern California, and enrolled by his grandmother during the summer. At the beginning, he could only recognize one word consistently: he could read "in." He cried in frustration at the beginning of every lesson, but soon began to enjoy his time here. At the end of the summer he flew back to his home state. We heard nothing from him until the following January, when he called to report that he had received an award in reading and was on the honor roll at school. At the close of his extraordinary phone call, he stated emphatically, "I love to read."

Kashandra* was the poorest reader in her second grade class in Austin, Texas. But four months after she enrolled in the Academic Associates Reading Course, she had become the best reader in the entire class. Her mother wrote, “Kashandra has gone from the bottom of the class to the top. Thanks for all the wonderful things you helped my daughter accomplish. I cannot express how her self-esteem has been lifted from this program.” It isn’t unusual for Academic Associates students to start at the bottom and end up at the top after only 30 to 60 hours.

Seventeen year-old Ahmed,* of Cairo, Egypt, had been tutored in reading for 18 months before his teacher came to the U.S. to learn the Academic Associates methodology. He wanted to attend university, but was advised that he could not pass the stringent entrance exam. Just six weeks after his teacher returned to Cairo and taught him with her newly acquired skills, Ahmed passed the entrance exams. On the first day of class, the 60 or so students were informed that they would each stand and read a paragraph. Ahmed froze. Then his confidence returned and he read his paragraph flawlessly. After every student had finished reading, the class professor announced, Since Ahmed is the best reader in the class, he will be our official class reader." Our Reading Instruction Specialsit said, "At that moment, Ahmed suddenly became nine feet tall. His entire life was changed."

Robert* couldn't read. “I’ve been a credentialed Reading Specialist for 12 years,” his teacher mother told us, “and my 14-year-old son is in a dead-end class at school. I can’t teach him and the school has given up.” At Academic Associates, he learned to read in a very short time, then we taught his mother how to teach reading for the first time in her life. We can teach you or your child, too—or your child’s teacher. If your child is in a dead-end class, don’t waste another day. Call Academic Associates.

“My name is Tania. I’m 15 years old. Reading was always very hard for me. I felt inadequate because all my friends read very well. I used to get discouraged trying to do my homework. After taking the Academic Associates course I can read with the best of them. My grades improved and so did my confidence. If you have a reading problem you should take this course.” Note: Her reading rose from 3rd to grade level to 10th within two months.

Fourteen year-old Sarah says, “Using the skills I learned in the Academic Associates course, I taught a second grade girl whose reading level went up four grades. It was such a joy to watch her blossom because she was able to learn to read the correct way. And I was able to make money, too.” —Sarah Schulz   Note: Sarah was 12 when she took our course. Now she’s teaching other children to read. Incredible? No, it’s just routine at Academic Associates.

Nelson is a 10-year old “non-reader” whose reading level rose from third-grade to seventh-grade in just 36 hours at Academic Associates. The truth is, so-called “non-readers” or poor readers have not been taught the right way.

The mother of two of our students told us this story. See if it sounds like anyone you know. “I read to my two sons since they were born. I spent over $14,000 on tutors and learning centers. Nothing worked until I sent them to you. Now they enjoy reading books.”

Kevin is thirteen. He always had trouble with reading. He felt embarrassed when others read better than he did. But listen to him now. “When I first came to your clinic, I thought it would be the same as all the others I had tried. But it helped me more than all the others. I can understand what I read, and it helped me with spelling, too. Thank you!! Forever!!” —Sincerely, Kevin
Note: After only 46 hours at Academic Associates, Kevin is reading above grade level for the first time in his life. Needless to say, his life is changed forever.

Shelby Allen and Charlie Sparks were only five years-old when they learned to spell “pneumococcus” and "chrysanthemum" for anyone who would listen. When they learned to read at Academic Associates, they also learned to spell. And they each read over 100 books before their sixth birthday. (Note: Shelby later won the Miss Junior California title two years in a row.)

Carli* has Asperger's disorder. Her mom wrote: “Carli* was struggling with reading, but when she began reading the words in just the second lesson at Academic Associates, she loved doing it and didn’t want any help. She raced through each line... and read the words aloud. She only mispronounced about one word in every fifty. For a six-year-old, that is absolutely fabulous! She shows such confidence and such an increase in speed I can hardly believe this is the same child as just one week ago. Thank you for making learning to read so easy for Carli*." (Note: Carli* is now 17 years old and a world-famous fashion model. You have probably seen her in numerous ads and commercials. Parents' names and phone number on file at our office.)

*Real students, but not their real names
